The Rosson House in Phoenix is one of the most recognizable historic homes in Heritage Square — and one of the city’s most talked-about haunted landmarks.

Built in 1895 for Dr. Roland Rosson, a physician and former mayor of Phoenix, the Rosson House still stands in downtown Phoenix’s Heritage Square, right next to the Arizona Science Center. Today, this fully restored Queen Anne Victorian home operates as a history museum, giving visitors a rare look inside Phoenix’s early days.

But of course… not every story in this house stayed neatly tucked in the past.

Over the years, guests and staff have reported unexplained footsteps, strange sounds, and warm air coming from fireplaces that haven’t been lit. Some say the home is haunted by a former caretaker who was shot outside the house in the 1980s — a tragedy that still lingers in local ghost stories.

If you want to step inside one of Phoenix’s most beautiful historic homes, you can tour the Rosson House Museum through The Square PHX. And if you want the haunted version? Come stand outside it with us after dark… if you dare.
